‘Mirror Thames’ 2022 Oil on Panel 216x110cm

This iconic view from Waterloo bridge looking down the river, was a morning and evening commute. Traveling to and from work for a number of years when working in the Theatre Industry. This expansive view has a sense of tranquility and opens the city up in a more digestible head space. It always gave me a warm feeling of fulfilment of being involved in this city. The forever changing lights of the Southbank reflecting and dancing on the river, a heavy rain storm had just passed, leaving the sun glowing orange as it goes down. It’s a loaded composition that can engage the eye to either work hard to absorb the city’s scale or settle on the water and find a calmness.
